Instant Messaging is a fun cool way to communicate with people in a "real time" setting. My experiences with IM have been mostly positive. It can speed up productivity in the workplace, allow customers to have more access to service representatives and is a great way for friends to communicate. Although, I have expierence with multiple IM's, I am partial to Google Talk. It is simple and easy to use. While working in the Youth Computer Lab, I've seen kids able to successfully communicate through as many as 3 different IM's at once. It's multi-tasking on a whole new level!
